Community Members, we need your help!
The Marquette Area Public School System is thinking about closing the beautiful, historic school building that your grandparents, parents, and children have attended. If you are concerned about losing one of the last neighborhood schools in Marquette, please speak up NOW before it is too late!

G
Graveraet deserves your support. The school and Kaufman Auditorium are a historical treasure for our area. A large variety of community and school activities are held at the Kaufman auditorium. If the school would close the auditorium could close as well.
R
Requires our assistance to make sure the Graveraet remains open as part of the K-12 school system so the building and Kaufman Auditorium are available for community use.
E
Endorsements from all clubs and organizations that use the facility are necessary to show the school board what value the community places on the building and the assets that it provides.
A
Accommodations will need to be made to keep the school open during these difficult economic times. We will need to involve outside historical groups and seek grant funding to keep this historic building part of our community.
T
Tenacity will be needed to keep this project in the forefront of decision maker’s minds so the value of Graveraet and the Kaufman Auditorium are not underestimated. Other schools have been closed in this district, but none of them had the historical value or multi-purpose benefit that Graveraet offers to our community.
