The history of the Graveraet School and Kaufman Auditorium is immense.

Its importance as a K-12 educational facility and community treasure are undeniable.  Since opening in 1927, it has watched generations of Marquette families flow through its doors.  Many have received high school diplomas at this school, others have attended middle school, and most recently, some have spent their intermediate years here as fourth and fifth graders.  No matter what educational grade changes have taken place over the years, every student, faculty member and administrator holds a special place within them for their experiences and memories at this school.

"Graveraet graduates have walked out into the world and excelled in every conceivable walk of life.  There are leaders among them in almost any field you can think of and those who returned to (the) 1994 All-Graveraet class reunion, thirty years after the school ceased to operate as a high school, will not be able to hide their loyalty to their home town and a deep sense of pride in the education and training they received at Graveraet High School."

-By C. Fred Rydholm, GHS Class of 1941

The Graveraet facility is not only a historical treasure, but one of the best constructed buildings in the whole school district.  It is not only architecturally significant, centrally located, includes both an auditorium and a gymnasium, and is a facility with a great historical past.
